Your Satnav doesn't really care whether or not you reach your destination, but we do. Please be aware that the Satnav instructions are not always accurate...

The Skye Bridge is a toll free bridge. Continue on the A87 towards Portree. At Sligachan you can either carry on towards Portree by following the A87, or you can turn left towards Dunvegan on the A863. If you need supplies you may want to go via Portree. There is a Co-op just off the main road and also 2 filling stations if you need to top up. If you go via Dunvegan there is 1 filling station and a small grocery shop and a fruit and veg shop. Do not rely on the Dunvegan Filling Station as it has been known to run dry …
Directions via Portree - A87-A850. (approximately 27 miles from No. 6) – the speed limit changes just as you enter the outskirts of Portree. Shortly afterwards you will see a Filling Station on your right. After a few hundred yards you will see the high school on your left and there is a junction here. Turn left. Very shortly thereafter there is another Filling Station on your right. Continue to the roundabout. The Co-op is off to the right of the roundabout. Continue across the roundabout on the main road until you reach the junction at Borve signposted for Dunvegan. Enter the left hand turning lane and turn on to the A850. Continue on this road for approximately 15 miles until you see the sign for Waternish. Turn right. See detailed instructions listed separately.
Directions via Dunvegan – A87-A863-A850. If you turned left at Sligachan, follow the road towards Dunvegan. If you want to go through Dunvegan, carry on the main road A863. Follow this road for approximately 4 miles until you see the junction for Waternish on your left. See detailed instructions listed separately.
From the A850, take the turning to Waternish at Fairy Bridge. You will see a bus shelter at this junction - currently housing our local food bank, a table and chair and some flowers - it's not your average bus shelter ! You are now 7.5 miles from No. 6. This is a single track road with passing places. Do not impede following traffic. If another vehicle is behind you, indicate left and pull in to the left at a passing place to allow them to pass. If you meet traffic coming in the other direction, pull in to the left to a passing place unless the oncoming traffic has already done this, in which case proceed towards them and give them a small friendly wave to acknowledge their action. Do not pull in to the right hand side! Continue until you reach the T junction above Stein. Turn right up the hill and round the bend to the left. Follow this road for approximately 3 miles until you reach another T junction. This loop road is signposted for Ardmore/Trumpan. Turn right up the hill and continue to the end of the road, where the road bends sharply to the left. No. 6 is the first house on the left.
